Kabiruddin 'Kalim was a famous author, writer and social activist during the princely Bhopal State.

Biography

Kabiruddin 'Kalim' was born on 13 Shawwal 1287 AH / 1870 AD. He was a great scholar and poet. He belongs to a strong family history. Zakiruddin 'Zaki' was his yonger brother.

Kabiruddin was Bay'ah with Hazrat Shah Nizamuddin Husain, Sajjada nashin, Hazrat Shah Neyaz Barelvi. He died on 1952 at Bhopal[1]

Life as scholar

He authored more than two dozen books. His first Pen name was 'Mahir' and then adopted 'Kalim'. Apart from poems and novels, there are books on religion also. Most of his unpublished work was preserved with his son, Badrul Hasan. Following is the list of books that he authored.

Marriage and children

He first married to Shafiun Nisan (daughter of Hameeduddin ibn Fareedudin of Ginnor Rohtak) but had no issue, while with second wife, Nazira Begum, one son Badrul Hasan and one daughter Badrun Nisan were born.

Relatives and friends

Hakim Syed Karam Husain was his relative as well as his close friend. They are of the same age group.
